Everyone’s heard of New Balance shoes, although depending on your age you may not have known that a hiking boot was designed by the company with the help of Alpinist Lou Whittaker 34 years ago (1982) – a shoe Whittaker wore when he climbed Mount Everest! So, what’s the big deal?
According to shoe news reports, New Balance is now bringing back the “Rainier Boots” in time for the 2016/2017 winter season. Many regions experience wet, slushy, or slippery terrain during the winter season depending on the weather, and these boots can reportedly be trusted to keep you on your feet. Boots are the choice of many consumers during winter months when, depending on where they’re living or what they’re doing, they may be hiking frozen tundra or traversing the slippery sidewalks of New York/Chicago trying to get to work.
While the original Rainier Boots of more than three decades ago were designed to deliver the support of a hiking boot with the lightweight feel and comfort of a sneaker, New Balance has improved on today’s version. Consumers will find the Rainier Boot even more practical for the winter season, as the company has added a lining that’s completely waterproof, along with a padded collar that supports the Achilles tendon.
Sounds like a great pair of boots for whatever weather the winter season may bring!
