In our position as a global wholesale footwear distributor, we’re always interested in the latest shoe news! Recently it was revealed that the ‘Tartt’ style shoe, a Mary Jane style pump in Sarah Jessica Parker’s collection, was selling out fast – in fact, it couldn’t be found online!
According to an article at The New York Post, the ‘Tartt’ sold out at Neiman Marcus’ website in July, just 45 minutes after becoming available on the website. On the popular Zappos website, the sparkly 2-inch block-heel pumps were sold out in less than four hours.
The shoe, a style from the fall 2015 SJP Collection, is selling for about $385 a pair and are being snapped up before consumers can even order them. However, the news article reveals the Tartt is finally hitting stores, and is expected to be available at Bloomingdale’s flagship store next week. The Bloomingdale’s website quickly sold out of four sizes of the sparkly pump.
Where did the name ‘Tartt’ come from? According to SJP, she named the shoe after Donna Tartt, author of “The Goldfinch.” Parker says that Tartt has a particular way of dressing, and that she is someone whose work Parker has admired for quite some time.
When it comes to getting your hands on a pair of these highly popular pumps, Parker says she “doesn’t have any pull.”
We know that women love their shoes, and are often willing to go to almost any lengths to get their hands on a pair of their favorite styles/brands. Hopefully every young lady who dreams of the sparkly Mary Jane-style shoes will be able to fulfill their dreams soon!
